The creation of the database comprised 2 basic tasks:

Task 1- Create on AutoCAD “as-built” database of all floor plans. Current (existing) floor plans were :

• In CAD format
• On paper
• Not available

All existing CAD plans were visually verified.

Task 2 – Collecting departmental data through observations and interviews and embedding the data into the updated CAD database thereby allowing client to track information and extract reports required for the ongoing management of the property portfolio.

Kickoff meetings were scheduled to determine and discuss logistics and implementation issues. Following that, a benchmark site was surveyed. Prioritization of campus buildings/departments were then field verified. Quality assurance plans were implemented to confirm the accuracy of both the CAD drawings and the departmental data. The majority of the departmental data was recorded by ECS’ field teams during the visual verification. A survey form was filled out in the field. Information was transcribed from the survey forms into the client database.

ECS field verified and developed CAD “as-builts” for five statewide campuses consisting of mixed use hospital, research and office facilities. The “as-built” plans were polylined and linked to the client's Archibus CAFM system.

ECS helped field verify and develop “as-built” plans for federal agency's facilities representing over 12,000,000 GSF of offices, hospitals and laboratories. The plans were polylined for the agency's SPAN CAFM system.

ECS field verified and developed “as-built” plans for client's main hospital representing approximately 850,000 GSF. The plans were polylined for Hospital’s CAFM system.
